B Sharp are passionate about building a sound future for young people through music. We provided music making opportunities for over 700 children and young people from a wide variety of backgrounds across West Dorset, East Devon and South Somerset last year.
We are delighted to have received funding from the Lyme Regis Regatta and Carnival, which will be used to purchase new musical equipment including instruments for our early years’ music sessions as well as leads, cables and drumsticks for our after-school clubs. We would like to thank Lyme Regis Regatta and Carnival for their support for young people in the area.
B Sharp is looking to recruit freelance music leaders to join our team and to work on projects across West Dorset, East Devon and South Somerset. We are looking for music leaders/facilitators to deliver group music making activities with young people, across our programme. If you are a musician or producer, across any genre, instrument or style, who is passionate about enabling children and young people to develop their musical potential, and develop socially and personally – come and join us! We are looking for people with some experience of facilitating music-making/development in a range of settings, which may include school, youth or community settings; but the main requirement is an openness to develop your practice. Thank you to all our young performers at Sunday’s Young Creatives open mic session at the Marine Theatre. The talented young people all had very different levels of performance experience – for some it was their first solo public performance – but all were able to share their music, and built their confidence in the supportive environment. We had some great feedback from one young performer – “really enjoyed the sense of community and the welcoming atmosphere to everybody. Would love more sessions like this”
