Recruiting Freelance Music Leaders

B Sharp is looking to recruit freelance music leaders to join our team and to work on projects across West Dorset, East Devon and South Somerset. We are looking for music leaders/facilitators to deliver group music making activities with young people, across our programme. If you are a musician or producer, across any genre, instrument or style, who is passionate about enabling children and young people to develop their musical potential, and develop socially and personally – come and join us!  We are looking for people with some experience of facilitating music-making/development in a range of settings, which may include school, youth or community settings; but the main requirement is an openness to develop your practice. See role description, and how to apply here

Young Creatives Project

Thank you to all our young performers at Sunday’s Young Creatives open mic session at the Marine Theatre. The talented young people all had very different levels of performance experience – for some it was their first solo public performance – but all were able to share their music, and built their confidence in the supportive environment. We had some great feedback from one young performer – “really enjoyed the sense of community and the welcoming atmosphere to everybody. Would love more sessions like this”

Songs of Here; Songs of Now

Sunday 1st May 6.30pm  – Songs of Here: Songs of Now
Musical Performance by B Sharp and local community participants

Staged on the sea defences on Lyme Regis seafront, Songs of Here; Songs of Now is an exciting musical performance of original music and songs written by local young people. The performance expresses the young people’s response to the landscapes, places and times in which they find themselves living and growing up – including the beautiful landscape of the Jurassic coast and Lyme Regis.

With guest performers Seaton Acapella.

This is a B Sharp event, facilitated by musicians Robert Lee, Ellie Walker, Ellie Kirtley and Leonie Prater. Supported by Dorset Community Foundation.
