B Sharp’s vision is that all young people can access the life-changing power of music to reach their potential.
As part of this aim we helped 4 young people aged 18 -25 develop skills in event production, as part of our recent Busking Festival supported by @aceagrams.

Our 4 Young Producers Emily, Annabel, James and George were mentored by an experienced Outdoor Arts Producer Cleo Evans to learn about event production - and produced their own event for the festival. Between them they produced a fantastic range of events including theatre, art, craft and music workshops for children as well as programming a performance stage.

They told us they have developed their skills in:
Time management
Communication
Budgeting and financial planning
Organisation and logistics
Event planning and risk assessments
Understanding formalities like contracts

One Young Producer - George said: "I now have a solid grasp of key aspects such as communication, outreach, logistics, money management, and the technical requirements for outdoor events. Time management was a major learning point—sticking to deadlines and staying on top of tasks was crucial for success."

Emily feels she has learnt lots of new skills, especially around everything that needs to be in place behind the scenes to run a successful event- "I now feel much more confident in organising events, knowing what needs to be put in place and whom to communicate with... This experience was incredibly rewarding, particularly in getting children excited about music—they were fully engaged, which was great to see."

B Sharp’s vision is that all young people can access the life-changing power of music to reach their potential.

As part of this aim 6 young people aged 16 -25 developed their understanding and experience of event management, by taking on roles as Festival Assistants as part of our recent Busking Festival supported by @aceagrams.

They helped set up the festival, run workshops, supported performances, collected audience and participant feedback, and helped steward the event. They all felt they had learnt a lot from the experience:

"I have definitely improved in confidence and interpersonal skills. It was also great to work part as a team and help each other to manage the festival. It also helped me prepare for the unexpected"
