Being a new parent can be a testing time and can lead to new mental health conditions such as postnatal depression, low mood, and anxiety.
B Sharp's classes in #Bridport will bring parents together to combat that and are funded by our Community Wellbeing and Mental Health Fund, which has invested £1 million into community projects to alleviate pressure on the NHS's mental health services.
B Sharp CEO Ruth Cohen says: "Early parenthood can be challenging, and for some, it severely affects their mental health. Issues like low mood and anxiety can worsen due to social isolation and a lack of support. Many new parents are new to the area, lacking established networks and nearby family, which exacerbates their isolation.
"Our activities will promote positive interactions, eye contact, and creative play, providing supported opportunities for parents to engage with their children and other adults."
