B Sharp Update on Coronavirus Situation

In light of the developing Coronavirus situation, and in line with Government guidance on non-essential social contact, there will be no further B Sharp sessions this term.

While face to face sessions are not possible, we are planning fun and easy ways to keep the young people from the B Sharp community making music and connected together. We will be sending out via email and social media regular music making activities for the young people to take part in. These will include videos of songs, exercises and instrumental coaching, and interactive activities to create new tracks and songs. We will be in touch with details very soon!
Thank you for all your continued support – we recognise this is a difficult and unsettling time for you, your families and our communities. Very best wishes for everyone’s health and wellbeing.

We are looking for a new Chair of Trustees

We are looking for a new Chair of Trustees

Based in Lyme Regis, B Sharp is now approaching its 12th successful year.

The Board of Trustees would like to find an individual who can take up the reins to support chief executive Ruth Cohen lead and develop the Board and help shape B Sharp’s next exciting phase.

The current Chair, Hannah Lovegrove, is stepping aside to focus on developing her skin care and therapy business, ‘Lovegrove Essentials’.

B Sharp is highly esteemed for providing exceptional music-making opportunities to young people in West Dorset, East Devon and South Somerset, to help build their musical ability, confidence, life skills, and to encourage them to contribute to their community.

The evidence is that the B Sharp model of music making has a significant impact on young people’s personal, emotional and social development.

The focus for the next three years is to mmaintain and develop the existing music workshop programme in Lyme Regis and Bridport, and to develop the programme in a wider area to reach more young people, as well as developing targeted work with young people who are vulnerable.

This will include working with world class musicians in partnership with local cultural organisations to provide young people with exciting musical experiences and performance opportunities, as well as developing the capabilities of our music leader team.

Hannah Lovegrove says: “It’s been such a privilege to work with B Sharp over the last four years, and to help to steer it through some major changes.

“I’m pleased to be able to say that the Board and management team have delivered on all our objectives and I’m leaving B Sharp in a strong position to provide this much-needed service to our young people over the coming years.”

To find out more about B Sharp and the Board of Trustees contact info@bsharp.org.uk or telephone Hannah on 07971 434336 or the B Sharp office on 07947 334138 To see role specification see Chair of Trustees job specification
