We were back Busking!

Great performances from our young participants and buskers B Sharp’s Busking Festival on Saturday!
It was fantastic to be able to share some live music with #LymeRegis again after so long. Thank you to all our participants, parents, volunteers, music leaders, trainees and supporters who made it possible! #BuskingFestival

Song writing Workshop

Song writing Workshop

Join us and contribute to the process of writing a song, both words and music.
Led by musician Dan Baker (http://www.danbaker-music.com/), the workshop is
fully guided and is perfect for all young people aged 8 – 18, including
beginner song-writers and non-musicians.

We will work on lyrics, chords and a structure, and then perform it at the end. If you play a musical instrument bring it along to the workshop and we can integrate this into the final performance.

This workshop is part of the Song for Us Project – a national music project which celebrates our communities and the power of music to bring us together.
The song written by the group will be added to the A Song For Us music map (https://asongforus.org/)

Happy Christmas from B Sharp!

Happy Christmas from B Sharp!

Our Christmas card image shows last year’s B Sharp Christmas event where children and young people, parents, grandparents and local supporters gathered to sing, eat and drink together – something which now seems a very distant memory! We hope that we will be able to bring the community together again through music next year.

Through 2020 we have been privileged to stay connected to our resilient and resourceful young participants, and their families, and still find ways to create new tracks, play instruments, sing, perform and produce events. Read our round-up of the year’s activity here.

B Sharp is very grateful for ongoing support of all our parents, funders and donors. As a charity we always need further support from people who love what we do.  You can support B Sharp by making a donation to help us continue working with young people next year, and beyond.

B Sharp Radio Show

B Sharp Radio Show

This term we’ve been working hard towards our own B Sharp Radio Show – a great way for our young musicians to get their music heard, while we can’t perform live.
Tune in to hear original music interspersed with a little Christmas fun!  One of our Trainee Music Leaders has also been able to interview local folk musician, Seth Lakeman, who talks about his music and growing up as a musician in the South-West.
Tune in here to hear our Radio Show on Sunday 13th December at 6pm
