Evolution Rocks is a concert by local young people led by B Sharp www.bsharp.org.uk . Working with B Sharp music leaders, students from The Woodroffe School and Mrs Ethelston’s CE Primary Academy, and from B Sharp’s groups – Boombox, Hub Jams and Bridport Jams, have created original songs and tracks on the theme of evolution. Welcome to a journey through time of light, sound and music!
Thanks so much to our B Sharp Young Music Leaders Elsa and Issy for taking the lead in organising such a great Youth Sounds gig at The Lyric Theatre on Saturday. Fab music from @thecoopers.band and @reub_kopec11 and Pizza for Dogs not to mention B Sharp’s own Bridport Jams and Issy and Elsa. Music performed by young people, for young people, organised and produced by young people – what B Sharp is all about!

We’re delighted to announce that singer-songwriter Billy Bragg will be joining Danny Boyles Pages of the Sea events this Sunday, to read Carol Ann Duffy’s ‘A Wound in Time’ and to perform his own work of remembrance.
Billy will be opening Activates first open-mic session in Weymouth at 1pm, and bringing the Lyme Regis open-mic session to a close at 3pm at the Jubilee Paviliion Marine Parade. If you want to join in go along between 2 and 3pm.

Pages of the Sea Event. Activate are still looking for volunteers for Danny Boyle’s Pages of the Sea Event on the 11th November on Lyme Regis beach.
You’re invited to beaches across the UK where, over the course of several hours, a portrait of an individual from the First World War will emerge from the sand. And then, as the tide rises, watch as it’s washed away as we take a moment to say a collective goodbye. Carol Ann Duffy has written a poem especially for the moment, to be read by individuals, families and communities on the day.

B Sharp are offering free 1 to 1 and small group sessions to find your voice in a professional recording studio with a music producer, Harry Warren. These sessions are particularly useful for building confidence and for those young people that might prefer to work in this way. If you are age 11 to 25 and interested to know more please contact info@bsharp.org.uk or call 07947 334 138. This project could lead to an opportunity to have your music featured on an album.
