B Sharp’s Busking Festival, on Saturday May 10th 2025, was a day of musical activities and performances across Lyme Regis at Marine Parade, Marine Theatre, Town Mill and Gun Cliff Walk
The streets of Lyme Regis were buzzing with energy as thousands of residents and visitors turned out for B Sharp’s annual Busking Festival. Under sunny skies, the town turned into a giant music stage, with local children, teenagers, and seasoned musicians filling the air with incredible sounds.
As the region’s largest busking festival, the event offered a platform for young talent to shine with a jam-packed day of free musical experiences designed to inspire the next generation of musicians.
The festival was supported by public funding from Arts Council England, which allowed us to put on our biggest festival yet. We were able to bring in street artists and performers, add new stages, and expand the range of masterclasses and workshops. We were also able to train the next generation of producers and event managers, with 4 Young Producers supported to put on their own events as part of the festival, and 6 Festival Assistants learning about behind-the-scenes event management.
“It was our most successful festival yet,” said Julie Sheppard, Chair of B Sharp. “Youngsters got the chance to try their hand at samba drumming, DJ-ing, and even recording their own tracks. For many, it was their first time performing in public. The sheer talent on display proved what’s possible when we give young people the opportunity to express themselves.”
The festival ended on a high note with a packed finale concert at the Marine Theatre. Groove Den and legendary trombonist Dennis Rollins brought the crowd to their feet with an electrifying performance, capping off a day of unforgettable music.
“We’re blown away by the support,” said Julie. “A huge thank you to everyone who participated, performed, and supported us. We’re already gearing up for next year!”

We were delighted to be able to run the popular Busking Festival on the Seafront this year as last year it was held online. We were lucky that we were able to run it as a covid-safe event. It was really lovely for the young people to be able to perform again, after such a long time.
You get to do what you love, and you get to perform it to people and they love it too and there’s just such a nice feeling about that
