B Sharp works with a wide range of youth and community partners to get more people involved in music!

All young people, and their families and communities, should have access to music opportunities through which they can develop musically, personally and socially. We actively seek new partnerships to ensure the widest possible group of young people in our region can make music.

We are particularly interested in working with partners who support young people who are most in need including those that are disabled, experiencing poor mental health, NEET (Not In Education Employment or Training), and those that are economically or rurally disadvantaged.

Bringing music to you! Creative and confidence-boosting workshops designed to engage young people in your youth club, community or support group in music opportunities.

Our experienced Music Leaders will come and work with young people at your setting. Projects can be designed around your needs. Recent projects have included:

  • Creating a song and music video with a youth club
  • Music production sessions with a youth club
  • Lyric writing with a mental health support group
  • Percussion and digital music making with summer project for disabled young people

If your setting specifically supports young people with vulnerabilities (eg. disability, mental health, care experienced) we can offer free sessions thanks to funding from Youth Music.

For other groups please contact info@bsharp.org.uk to discuss your project and cost

Getting the whole family involved! Fun and engaging workshops and activities for families for festivals, activity days and community engagement.

  • Drop-in early years music exploration

Thank you so much Thomas Hardye School Music Department for hosting Routes into Music: Young People's Careers Expo yesterday. It was a really useful event, with 150 young people from schools across Dorset hearing from local professionals about diverse careers across the music industries - everything from composing music for video games and apps to live sound!
"I have learnt about things I never would have considered."
"Very interesting to hear about the different jobs in music and the different roles that music can lead to"
Thank you to all our our fantastic expert professional speakers and to Octagon Music Hub and Dorset Music Service for your support!Thank you to Octagon Music Hub, Dorset Music Service and B Sharp for organising a music careers expo which we were pleased to host today. 90 of our students took part, with a range of professionals talking about the jobs that they do. Our students also got to hear from some ex-students and find out what it’s like studying music or music technology at Higher education conservatoires and universities.
